Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has tabled a four-point proposal aimed at reorganizing the party.
During a meeting of party office-bearers held at Paris Danda on Sunday, he suggested dissolving the central committee and all existing structures to form a General Convention Organizing Committee and holding a special general convention by Mangsir (November/December).
According to his proposal, the new party structure would ensure majority representation of youth, along with significant inclusion of women, Dalits, and other marginalized groups. Office-bearers, including the chairperson, would be directly elected through the convention.
Prachanda also proposed advancing preparations for both the upcoming election and the convention simultaneously, promoting new and popular candidates, and creating a favorable environment for the March 4 (Fagun 21) elections.
Addressing the post-Gen Z movement political scenario, Prachanda emphasized that the Maoist Centre bears a key responsibility to stabilize the country. He further argued that systems such as an executive presidency and a fully proportional electoral system could help avert future crises.
