Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party, has urged all sides to exercise restraint following the protest that took place in Simara, Bara.
Stating that political and ideological differences are natural in a democracy, he said that turning the Simara incident into violence or provocation does not align with democratic culture.
In his statement, he said, “I draw the government’s attention to ensuring an environment where political parties and their leaders can move freely and conduct gatherings and meetings without obstruction, while respecting political and freedom of expression.”
He also requested all concerned stakeholders to remain cautious and responsible so that no incident negatively affects the announced elections, ensuring they remain peaceful and impartial.
Dahal further instructed local party committees to play a facilitative role in normalizing the evolving political situation and circumstances in the country.
