Pushpa Kamal Dahal of the Nepal Communist Party has secured a decisive victory in Rukum East in the House of Representatives election.
Out of 15,823 votes counted so far, Prachanda received 8,747 votes. His closest rival, Lilamani Gautam, obtained 3,017 votes.
A total of 19,188 votes were cast in the constituency. With 3,365 votes still left to be counted, Prachanda is already leading by a margin of 5,460 votes, ensuring a comfortable win.
