Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the party will participate in the upcoming elections and that there is no relevance for a special general convention at the moment.
Speaking at a program organized at Shobha Bhagwati on the occasion of the 111th birth anniversary of late Nepali Congress leader Ganeshman Singh, he stated that the Nepali Congress, being a party that believes in democratic values and systems, must reach out to the people through elections.
He said, “Nepali Congress is a democratic party. We will take part in the elections, and it is the Congress that will lead the country out of this crisis.”
Commenting on recent calls for a special general convention, Singh added, “With the regular convention approaching, there is no justification for a special convention. The current priority is to lead the nation out of crisis and regain the trust of the people.”
He also mentioned that the party is internally working to address the demands of the Gen Z movement and emphasized the need to integrate the ideas, energy, and aspirations of the new generation into the party structure.
During the event, party leaders, cadres, and local residents paid tribute to Ganeshman Singh by garlanding his statue and recalling his contributions to democracy.
