President Ram Chandra Paudel has urged King Abdullah II of Jordan to take necessary steps for the release of Bipin Joshi from Mahendranagar, who was taken hostage by Hamas.
In a letter sent to the Jordanian monarch on Tuesday, President Paudel requested identification of Joshi’s situation, his safe release, and return to Nepal. The letter emphasized that any humanitarian and diplomatic measures taken by the Jordanian counterpart for this purpose would be highly appreciated and welcomed by Nepal and the Nepali people.
President Paudel’s intervention follows a visit on Sunday by Joshi’s mother and sister to the President’s residence at Sheetal Niwas, where they requested his assistance in securing Joshi’s release. At the meeting, President Paudel assured them of his commitment to making additional efforts for Joshi’s safe return.
