
President Ramchandra Paudel held a meeting with National Assembly Chair Narayan Dahal. Chair Dahal is set to represent Nepal at the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), a global forum for parliamentarians, in Geneva. He visited Shital Niwas to provide information on this matter.
Chair Dahal is scheduled to depart for Geneva on 31st Ashoj to attend the conference. The delegation, led by Dahal, will include five additional members comprising National Assembly members and staff.
Earlier, last Sunday, Chair Dahal also held discussions with Prime Minister Sushila Karki at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers’ office in Singha Durbar. They discussed topics to be raised at the IPU. Prime Minister Karki advised Chair Dahal to present Nepal’s position clearly in light of the latest developments.
“Participation in international forums is important, and Nepal’s situation should be effectively conveyed,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
According to sources at Shital Niwas, the meeting with President Paudel also included discussions on the National Assembly elections.
