On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal–Japan diplomatic relations, President Ramchandra Paudel is set to depart for an official visit to Japan today, Sunday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that President Paudel will visit Japan at the invitation of the Japanese government, leading a Nepali delegation.
According to Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, President Paudel will leave for Japan tonight at 11:30 pm on Nepal Airlines flight number 433. He is scheduled to return to Nepal on Magh 21 at 4:30 pm.
During the visit, President Paudel will participate on Magh 19 in a special ceremony organized by the Japanese government to mark the 70th anniversary of Nepal–Japan diplomatic relations.
Similarly, on Magh 20, President Paudel is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. On the same day, he will also hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As part of the visit, President Paudel will also have a courtesy meeting with Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Iwao Horii.
During the visit, President Paudel will take part in an interaction with the Japanese business community and attend a reception hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Japan. President Paudel will be accompanied by his spouse Sabita Paudel and senior government officials as part of the delegation.
