Prime Minister Balen Shah has started consultations with Members of Parliament, beginning with MPs from Koshi Province to seek input on district-level problems and possible solutions.
MPs from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Nepal Communist Party (UML), Nepali Congress, and the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) attended the meeting. However, the Shram Sanskriti Party boycotted the discussion.
Party chair Harka Sampang publicly rejected the invitation, stating that the parliamentary session should be the primary forum for such discussions. Through social media, Sampang argued that holding a small-room meeting without convening a parliamentary session was inappropriate. “It is unclear why the Prime Minister is calling closed-door meetings instead of initiating a session of the House,” he wrote.
