Prime Minister Sushila Karki has urged all Nepalis to move forward with a national commitment to fulfill the aspirations of peace, prosperity and good governance.
In her message issued on the occasion of Tihar, Mha Puja, Nepal Sambat New Year 1146, and Chhath festival, Prime Minister Karki extended best wishes to all Nepalis living in the country and abroad.
“It is our unique culture to remain united in difficult times,” the message states, adding, “Therefore, without falling into any confusion, let us all unite to end despair and darkness and build a bright future for a new Nepal.”
Prime Minister Karki mentioned that the government is working with full dedication to create an environment for elections with a commitment to provide a stable government within six months. She also stated that political dialogue and improvements in the security situation are progressing satisfactorily.
The message further states, “We are clear that it is our primary responsibility to conduct elections on Falgun 21 in a clean, impartial, and fearless environment, establish good governance, take strong action against corruption, and conduct an impartial investigation into the acts of suppression and violence during the Jenji movement.”
Highlighting that this year carries a great responsibility for transformation and a new journey ahead, she added, “Honoring the trust and responsibility placed upon us by the historic Jenji movement of Bhadra, the government has expressed strong commitment to inclusive, transparent, and accountable governance. In the meantime, the foundation for good governance and development as desired by Jenji has already been laid.”
The message concludes by stating that these festivals symbolize hope, faith, and prosperity, celebrating the victory of light over darkness, hope over despair, and justice over injustice.
