Prime Minister Sushila Karki has inspected the under-construction Kathmandu–Tarai Fast Track. She visited the national pride project on Monday morning along with a team of senior Nepal Army officials and high-ranking government officials.
During the inspection, Prime Minister Karki took stock of the project’s progress and instructed the concerned authorities to expedite the construction work. She assured that the government would provide all necessary support to ensure timely completion.
The fast track, which connects the Kathmandu Valley with Nijgadh in Bara through the shortest route, is considered strategically very important.
The approximately 71-kilometer-long expressway is being constructed under the management and supervision of the Nepal Army. Although the project aims to be completed by the end of Chaitra 2083 (mid-April 2027), it has been facing challenges including policy complexities, geographical difficulties, and land acquisition issues.
