Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a farewell meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, who is preparing to return to his home country upon completion of his tenure. Ambassador Song paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Karki at Singha Durbar.
During the meeting, the two discussed various dimensions of Nepal–China relations and issues of mutual bilateral interest. On the occasion, Ambassador Song stated that China is a close friend of Nepal and has been continuously supporting Nepal in all aspects of development and construction, adding that such cooperation would continue in the future as well.
Prime Minister Karki congratulated Ambassador Song on the successful completion of his tenure and wished him a pleasant and successful journey. She reaffirmed Nepal’s firm commitment to the One-China policy and assured that Nepal would not allow any activities on its soil that go against China’s national interests.
The Prime Minister also expressed hope that Nepal would continue to receive support, cooperation, and assistance from China in its development efforts, as it has in the past.
