A lane of Kathmandu’s Ring Road was occupied by a long line of private school buses today as part of an ongoing protest.
Private school operators are demonstrating against the new Education Bill, demanding the removal of provisions that require “full scholarships” and mandate schools to become “gradually non-profit.”
School operators are pressuring the government to amend the bill, which has already been passed by the Education Committee.
A few days ago, organizations including PABSON, National PABSON, HISSAN, OPEN, and NMA also staged a protest by bringing school buses onto the streets.
