
The District Administration Office, Bhaktapur, has issued a prohibitory order effective from 8:30 a.m. today until further notice. The order bans all types of gatherings, rallies, demonstrations, meetings, and crowds within the designated areas.
According to the order issued by Chief District Officer (CDO) Namaraj Ghimire under Clause 6 (a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028, movement of people as well as any form of assemblies, sit-ins, protests, or encirclement are prohibited within the specified perimeters of Bhaktapur Municipality, Changunarayan Municipality, and Suryabinayak Municipality.
The restricted areas include:
- From Jadibuti through Araniko Highway up to Sanga, including 200 meters on either side
- From Pepsi-Cola Manohara Bridge to Nikosera Chowk
- From Kaushaltar-Balkot Chowk via Rose Village to Chardobato Chowk
- From Radheradhe Chowk to Nikosera Chowk
- From Bakhabazar and Nepal-Korea Friendship Hospital to Chardobato Chowk
- Sallaghari-Nagarkot road via Kamalbinayak and Kharipati to Nagarkot
- Chyamasim through Tathali to Nala (Kavre district border)
- Duwakot Mode to Nepal Engineering College area
- Dekochha to Changunarayan Temple area
CDO Ghimire said the order was enforced considering the current security situation and potential risks, and it will remain in place until a new directive is issued.
