Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rabi Lamichhane, has remarked that those who looted the country have been pushed to the point of fleeing, hinting at the Gen-Z movement.
Addressing an election program in Chitwan District on Saturday, Lamichhane said that the RSP has achieved significant success over the past three years. “In just three years of hard work, we have reached a point where we can write our own destiny and future. This is not a small achievement or a minor step,” he said.
He acknowledged that the journey had been painful. “I do not need to say what happened during this time. Even if I suffered, it is your eyes that have been filled with tears. Even if the wound is on me, the pain is felt by you,” he told voters.
Lamichhane alleged that the government was brought down because he refused to seek a share in corrupt money. “I had to endure that much pain. If I had sought comfort, the government would not have fallen. Perhaps we could have taken a share in burnt money, but we did not,” he said.
Despite the hardships, he claimed that they have managed to corner those who looted the country. Referring indirectly to leaders of major parties in the context of the Gen-Z movement, he stated, “We have pushed those who looted the nation to a place where they have to run.”
Lamichhane also claimed that the rise of the RSP has brought global attention to Chitwan. “Chitwan was a sacred land, a land of penance. Now it will also be recognized as the fertile ground of Nepal’s peaceful political revolution,” he said.
After holding election assemblies in Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces, Lamichhane returned to Chitwan and has been conducting door-to-door campaigns and meeting voters since Saturday morning.
