Raghuji Pant, who had filed his candidacy for the post of vice-chairperson at the 11th general convention of the CPN-UML, has been included in the panel led by party chair KP Sharma Oli. According to leaders from the Oli faction, Pant has been accommodated in the Oli–Ishwar Pokhrel group’s team.
Although Pant was an aspirant for the vice-chairperson post, his name was initially not included in the Oli faction’s official candidate list. Following this, he registered his candidacy as an independent candidate. After the independent candidacy, Chair Oli and senior leader Ishwar Pokhrel’s group initiated efforts to bring Pant into their panel.
Chair Oli also held a direct conversation with Pant on Monday. Party leader Pradeep Gyawali reportedly did not file his candidacy for the vice-chairperson post, leaving one position vacant in the Oli panel, and Pant was included in that slot.
