Indian Premier League side Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in a rain-affected match in Guwahati last night.
The game, delayed by rain, was shortened to 11 overs per side. After winning the toss, Mumbai chose to field first. Batting first, Rajasthan posted a formidable 150 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 11 overs. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal starred with a blistering 77 off 32 balls, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes.
For Mumbai, Allah Ghazanfar picked up two wickets.
Chasing a target of 151, Mumbai had a poor start, losing three wickets inside the powerplay. They eventually managed 123 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 11 overs. Sherfane Rutherford and Naman Dhir scored 25 runs each for Mumbai.
For Rajasthan, Sandeep Sharma, Nandre Burger, and Ravi Bishnoi claimed two wickets each.
With this, Rajasthan registered their third consecutive win to move to the top of the points table, while Mumbai suffered their second straight defeat in three matches.
