Nepali Congress leader and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has described the investigation report prepared under the leadership of Gauri Bahadur Karki as biased, retaliatory, and incomplete.
Expressing his views through Facebook, Lekhak said the report formed to investigate the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24 was unverified, and based on that report, a criminal charge was filed against him and he was kept in custody for 13 days.
“Even though I was detained for 13 days on criminal charges based on a prejudiced, retaliatory, incomplete, and unverified report, I have finally been released,” he wrote.
Lekhak was arrested on Chaitra 14 on charges related to the alleged suppression of the Gen-Z movement that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24. He was released on Thursday following a mandamus order from the Supreme Court of Nepal.
He stated that as a law-abiding person who believes in justice, he will continue both legal and political battles in the coming days. “I express high respect to the honorable Supreme Court for issuing the mandamus order. I follow the law and believe in justice. The remaining legal and political fight will continue,” he said.
Lekhak also thanked everyone who raised their voice for his release.
