Rajendra Lingden, chairperson of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), met with Ravi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who is currently imprisoned in Bhairahawa jail on charges related to a cooperative scam.
This was Lingden’s second visit to Lamichhane on Tuesday . According to Lingden, their discussion covered a wide range of topics including health and well-being, national politics, parliamentary activities, and the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi.
Lingden also urged authorities to allow Lamichhane to stay in the prison of his choice. Writing on Facebook, he expressed sorrow over the government depriving an important party leader of even the minimal facility of serving time in his preferred prison.
He described the Bhairahawa prison as inadequate both in terms of facilities and security, and requested Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak to transfer Lamichhane to Kathmandu.
