Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has emphasized the need for a new understanding between the former king, political parties, and the new generation before upcoming elections.
Addressing an election rally on Thursday in Chakraghatti, Sunsari, Lingden alleged that the election scheduled for 2084 BS was forcibly brought forward to 2082 BS. He warned, “If the country is forcibly pushed toward elections under the pretense that the current system is fine and that people’s conditions will improve, the problem may seem delayed temporarily but will later become even more complex and severe, pushing the country toward disaster.”
Lingden stressed the importance of creating an environment where no one feels excluded. He called for a new consensus among the king, political parties, and the younger generation.
Referring to the message from former King Gyanendra on the occasion of Democracy Day as a suggestion, Lingden urged political parties to take it positively. He appealed for a new agreement under the spirit of “Nepal First, Nepali First.”
Highlighting concerns about whether the upcoming elections will sustain the country, he urged voters to make decisions thoughtfully and seriously, rather than based on social media trends. Lingden cautioned that holding elections under the current system could lead the nation toward disaster, pointing out systemic issues beyond individual actors.
