Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has made public its manifesto for the House of Representatives elections, naming it “Sankalpaptra.” The document was unveiled by party chair Rajendra Lingden at a program held at the party’s central office.
The party has proposed the monarchy as a guardian institution. Calling for changes and reforms in the electoral system, it has envisioned abolishing the provinces and adopting a two-tier governance structure with a strong center and strong local governments.
RPP has stated that Nepal should be a Hindu state based on Vedic Sanatan tradition with full religious freedom. With the slogan “We may be destroyed, but not corrupted,” the party has pledged to form a high-level citizens’ commission to investigate the property of high-ranking leaders and officials since 1990 (2046 BS) and to confiscate illegally acquired assets through legal provisions.
The manifesto sets a target of achieving over 7 percent economic growth within five years. It mentions increasing employment and income opportunities, boosting consumption and savings capacity, and creating investment-friendly laws to attract foreign investors.
The party also aims to free Nepal from the international “grey list” by ensuring financial transparency, controlling money laundering, and reforming regulations in line with international standards. It has pledged to address problems seen in the cooperative and microfinance sectors and to ensure the safety of depositors’ funds. While releasing the manifesto, Chair Lingden claimed that only commitments that can be fully implemented have been included.
