Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Ravi Lamichhane is set to enter the party’s central office today (Poush 6) after a gap of eight and a half months. Lamichhane, who was released from Nakhu Prison on Friday (Poush 4) after depositing bail of nearly NPR 40 million at the Rupandehi District Court as per an order of the Butwal Bench of the High Court in the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, will be welcomed at the party’s central office in Baneshwori–Ghanṭighar, Banasthali, Kathmandu.
RSP spokesperson Minash Jha said that a welcome program for Chair Lamichhane will be held at the party’s central office at 3:00 pm today. According to Jha, Lamichhane is entering the party office after eight and a half months, having last visited the office on Chaitra 15.
After traveling to Rupandehi on Friday to post bail, the former Home Minister addressed party cadres in Chitwan on Saturday following his release. He returned to Kathmandu later the same day and was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by RSP leaders and supporters with traditional music and fanfare.
