Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has called for the immediate and unconditional release of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
On Tuesday, an RPP delegation led by senior vice chair Roshan Karki met Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal to press for Prasai’s release. According to party spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, the team formally urged the minister to free Prasai without conditions.
Police arrested Prasai on Monday night on allegations of violating the election code of conduct. He had previously been detained on the same charge on Magh 23 and was released on bail after two days in custody. He was only recently released again on Magh 25.
Prasai is also the coordinator of the Rastra, Nationality, Religion and Culture Protection Campaign. RPP has objected to his re-arrest and reiterated its demand for his immediate release.
