Chandra Bik, General Secretary of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Karnali Province, and Jagat Basnet, Acting District Chair of RSP Surkhet, have left their party and joined the Nepali Congress.
They, along with dozens of other former RSP members, were welcomed with khada and garlands by Nepali Congress Vice President Bishwo Prakash Sharma at a program held in Surkhet on Sunday morning.
With the province’s general secretary and the acting chair of the provincial capital district resigning ahead of the elections, the move is considered a setback for RSP.
