Senior journalist Dharmendra Jha has resigned from the position of Executive Chair of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS).
Jha submitted his resignation letter on Sunday to Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr. Bikram Timilsina.
In his resignation letter, Jha stated that he was appointed as Executive Chair of RSS as per the decision of the Government of Nepal and had worked in the best interest of the institution throughout his tenure.
“Since my appointment, I have remained active in promoting the best interests of RSS by upholding journalistic values to the best of my knowledge, wisdom, and ability,” he wrote.
He also mentioned that he has embraced the country’s changing political environment. “I believe the newly formed government should be able to function according to its convenience, and I wish it success,” Jha stated, adding that he chose to resign on moral grounds to pave the way forward.
