The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in Nepal is set to begin from April 1 (Chaitra 19). This year’s exam schedule was postponed by 12 days due to the elections held on Falgun 21. Last year, the SEE had started earlier on Chaitra 7.
According to National Examination Board Examination Controller Tukraj Adhikari, a total of 510,000 students will appear for the SEE this year. In comparison, 514,071 students took the exam last year, marking a decrease of around 4,000 candidates.
Out of the total candidates this year, 63,000 are exempted students. Additionally, 23 students from Japan will also sit for the SEE exams. Among the total examinees, 257,527 are female students, while 252,434 are male students.
The National Examination Board has confirmed that question papers have been delivered to all 77 districts across the country. A total of 1,991 examination centers have been designated for conducting the exams. Question papers and answer sheets have been dispatched to district police offices nationwide.
The examinations will run from April 1 to April 11 (Chaitra 19–29), starting daily at 8:00 AM. To ensure a smooth and secure examination process, Nepal Police will deploy around 12,500 security personnel across the country.

- April 2 (Chaitra 20): Compulsory Nepali
- April 4 (Chaitra 22): Compulsory Mathematics
- April 5 (Chaitra 23): Subjects related to Sanskrit and Vedic streams
- April 6–11 (Chaitra 24–29): Technical stream subjects (both old and new curricula)
Authorities have emphasized that all preparations are in place to conduct the examinations in an organized and secure manner.
