The District Police Office Makwanpur has successfully arrested seven fugitives involved in various criminal offenses within just five days.
A police team deployed under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Shyam Bahadur Khatri and DIG Pushkar Bogati apprehended individuals who had been hiding in Makwanpur after committing fraud in different districts.
According to the police, the arrested individuals have been sent to their respective districts for further legal action. Authorities stated that surveillance has been intensified as Makwanpur has recently been increasingly used as a safe hiding place by criminals.
During the operation, police also arrested a woman accused of defrauding people by promising to send them to Canada. Based on a complaint filed by Bishal K.C., 37-year-old Dhansani Gole, a resident of Raksirang Rural Municipality–1 in Makwanpur, was taken into custody in a case filed by the Government of Nepal.
Police reported that she was arrested under an existing warrant related to foreign employment fraud. She is being prepared for transfer to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Speaking to Nepal News Bank’s Makwanpur correspondent, SP Shyam Bahadur Khatri stated that such fraudulent activities will no longer be tolerated and that anyone involved will be brought under legal action.
Police have also urged other victims of similar scams to contact the concerned authorities and advised the public to follow official procedures and avoid falling for false promises when seeking foreign employment opportunities.
