Seven people were killed on the spot in a jeep accident on the inner road section at Lisne in Banfikot Rural Municipality–7 of Rukum West district.
The jeep (registration number Ra 1 Ja 422) was traveling from the district headquarters Khalanga to Syalkhadi in Aathbiskot Municipality–2 on Friday evening when it met with the accident. According to Police Inspector Hari Prasad Pun, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Rukum West, seven people died at the scene.
Those killed in the accident have been identified as 30-year-old Kamala Wali, 16-year-old Tekjung Budha, 15-year-old Dilmaya Budha, 17-year-old Manika Wali, 18-year-old Sharmila BK, 22-year-old Gopal Wali—all residents of Syalkhadi, Aathbiskot-2—and one unidentified person. Ten others were injured in the accident.
The injured were rescued and taken to the District Hospital in Salle for treatment. The jeep had fallen about 700 meters below the road. Further details are yet to come.
