A seven-point agreement has been reached between the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah on various issues.
Mayor Shah shared a photograph on social media on Sunday morning showing him signing the agreement, along with a “Good Morning” message. The agreement was reached earlier today and has been signed by RSP Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane and Mayor Shah.
According to the details made public, the agreement includes taking ownership of the movement led by young people against corruption and poor governance, and appropriately addressing the demands of the injured and the families of martyrs.
It has also been agreed that Rabi Lamichhane will remain the central chairperson of the party, while Balen Shah will become the parliamentary party leader after the upcoming House of Representatives election and the party’s candidate for prime minister.
Furthermore, the agreement states that the political party established following this understanding, its election symbol, and the party office name will continue to be that of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. The agreement also includes provisions to ensure youth participation in the party’s organizational structure, among other matters.
