
Heavy rainfall and subsequent landslides have completely blocked seven sections of major highways across Nepal today. According to police reports, vehicles are operating on a one-way basis at five other locations due to road damage and debris.
In Sankhuwasabha, the Koshi Highway at Bhotkhola and Makalu has been obstructed, while the Mechi Highway in Ilam Municipality–9 remains closed. Similarly, the Pasang Lhamu Highway in Gosainkunda, Rasuwa, and several areas of Roshi Rural Municipality–11 in Kavre — including Mamtikhola, Dalabesi, Buldhunga, and Banjokhet — have been completely blocked.
In addition, a section of the road at Nepalthok in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality–1, Sindhuli, has also been closed due to a landslide.
Meanwhile, vehicles are moving one-way along the Mid-Hill Highway at Pakhriwas Municipality–5, Dhankuta, and along the Koshi Highway in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, Dhankuta.
Similarly, Kanti Lokpath at Baguwa Khola, Bhimphedi Rural Municipality–8, and Ghattapakh, Bakaiya Rural Municipality–11, Makwanpur, is open for one-way traffic. The Madan Bhandari Highway at Sindure, Marin Rural Municipality–2, Sindhuli, is also operating one-way today.
Police have reported traffic congestion in the one-way sections as clearing and repair works continue.
