
A major road accident occurred early Saturday morning in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29, Gaighat, where seven vehicles collided, leaving 19 people injured. The number of injured is expected to rise, according to authorities.
The incident took place along the Narayangarh–Muglin road section. At around 7:15 AM, seven vehicles crashed into each other in a chain collision, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabindra Khanal of Chitwan District Police Office.
According to police, the accident began when a passenger bus (Ba 4 Kha 7420) and a truck (Na 8 Kha 6629) collided head-on. Following this, additional vehicles behind them crashed one after another, resulting in a multi-vehicle pileup.
Rescue operations are currently underway, and the injured are being transported to various hospitals in Bharatpur for treatment. DSP Khanal stated that a detailed report of the incident is yet to come as rescue efforts are still in progress.
