CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that the government’s decision to dissolve the Land Commission would be a violation of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution.
Posting on Facebook on Saturday, Pokharel stated, “Abolishing the Land Commission is equivalent to denying the constitutional right to land ownership for thousands of landless people, informal settlers, and Dalit communities.”
He further remarked that since the current government has accepted the policies, programs, and budget introduced by the previous administration, dissolving the Land Commission formed under those policies is unjustified.
