Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said he is preparing to contest the upcoming House of Representatives election from Dadeldhura once again. During an interaction with party workers, Deuba hinted that this may be his last time entering electoral competition.
According to Bhim Bahadur Saud, President of Congress Dadeldhura, preparations are underway to unanimously recommend Deuba’s name after he expressed his desire to run again.
Central members from Sudurpaschim Province who visited Deuba at his Maharajgunj residence last week also said that he repeated his intention to participate in the next election.
Similarly, Nepali Congress student leader Bhuvan Bhatt, who met Deuba on Tuesday morning, confirmed that Deuba signaled he would run for the final time.
The Congress Party has already issued a circular instructing provincial committees to send candidate recommendations to the center by the end of this month.
As per party rules, each constituency must recommend three candidates, including at least one woman. Provincial committees must submit their recommendations by Mangsir 25.
Deuba has been continuously elected as a Member of Parliament from Dadeldhura since 2048 BS.
