In Dharan, six buses parked at the Atal Garage in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-8 caught fire on Tuesday night.
The Sunsari District Police Office reported that three buses were completely destroyed, while the remaining three suffered partial damage.
The buses completely destroyed in the fire were:
Krishna Bus (Ko. 1 Kha 6274)
Kankai Yatayat (Pra. 1–01–001 Kha 4037)
Pathivara Darshan Bus (Ba. 4 Kha 5759)
The partially damaged buses included:
Super Maden (Ko. 1 Kha 3847)
Ba. 5 Kha 5814
Ba. 5 Kha 5809
Police investigation indicates that the fire was likely caused by a short circuit inside the bus, and there is no immediate evidence of arson. The blaze reportedly started from bus Ko. 1 Kha 6274, which operates on the Biratnagar–Dharan route. Interestingly, the same bus had caught fire while running about a month ago.
The bus entered the garage around 9:00 PM, and the fire started around 9:30 PM. Police were notified at approximately 10:00 PM, after which emergency response began.
