A military helicopter crash in Qatar has left six people dead and one missing.
According to the Qatar Ministry of Defence, the helicopter carrying seven personnel crashed into the country’s maritime area on Sunday morning due to a “technical malfunction” during a routine mission.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, the ministry confirmed that six of the seven people on board were found dead during search operations.
The missing individual has been identified as Captain (pilot) Saeed Nasser Samekh, a member of the Qatari armed forces. Search and rescue efforts are still ongoing.
Authorities have not yet determined whether the crash is linked to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
