
At least six people have died in a road accident at Kattike Danda, located on the border of Ward No. 2 and 3 of Kummayak Rural Municipality, Panchthar.
According to Armed Police DSP Chiranjeevi Prasai, the deceased include three women and three men.
The accident also left five people injured, who have been sent to Dharan for treatment, while one injured person is being treated in Phidim.
Police and Armed Police teams have reached the accident site. The vehicle is stuck on a cliff, and heavy rainfall has complicated rescue efforts.
Panchthar DSP Anish Karna stated that local police teams were mobilized immediately after receiving the accident report. However, the exact number of passengers on board is still unknown.
The jeep reportedly fell about 400 meters down from the road. Police said no one was found inside the vehicle, but belongings and goods were scattered across the area.
