South Korea is set to conduct its Korean language proficiency test for the year 2025. The Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) has announced that applications for the test will be open from August 10 to August 15, 2025 (Shrawan 26 to 31, 2082 BS).
The notice was published on HRD Korea’s official website. However, details such as the specific employment sectors for which the test will apply, or the number of workers to be recruited, have not yet been disclosed.
Thousands of young Nepalis studying the Korean language are eagerly awaiting the test. Although the application dates have been announced, the exact schedule for the examination itself is yet to be confirmed.
South Korea has been hiring foreign workers under the EPS (Employment Permit System) in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and shipbuilding. Nepal has been sending workers to Korea through the EPS system since 2008. In recent years, around 10,000 Nepali workers have been recruited annually under the program.
