Speaker Devraj Ghimire has described the dissolution of Parliament as an unconstitutional, unlawful, and undemocratic move, stressing that its immediate reinstatement is necessary.
Speaking to journalists today at his private residence in Birtamod, Jhapa, Speaker Ghimire stated that reinstating Parliament is the only legitimate solution to the country’s current political instability.
“The dissolution of Parliament, carried out beyond the constitutional framework, has pushed the country toward uncertainty,” he said. He added that the foremost need at present is the reinstatement of Parliament, which he termed the only constitutional path.
Speaker Ghimire also expressed hope that the Supreme Court would conduct an expedited hearing on the case related to Parliament reinstatement and deliver a positive verdict based on legal, practical, and national considerations.
