Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire has expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s failure to convene the National Assembly session.
Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Sunday to mark Parliament Service Day, he said that although the House of Representatives is dissolved, he had advised the government to effectively run the National Assembly. However, the government has not acted accordingly, he complained.
Speaker Ghimire also stressed the need for establishing a Parliament Academy to ensure proper laws and mechanisms for mobilizing parliamentary staff effectively.
He further stated that it is important not to delay efforts to strengthen the parliament in line with the nation’s needs.
Additionally, the Speaker highlighted that the issue of appointing officials to the Parliament Secretariat requires serious discussion and careful decision-making going forward.
