The Special Court has found Bharat Kumar Thapa, the mayor of Bagmati Municipality in Sarlahi, guilty in a case related to corruption and illegal property accumulation.
A bench comprising Chairperson Judge Tek Narayan Kunwar and members Judges Muraribabu Shrestha and Bidur Koirala delivered the verdict, convicting Thapa along with Bimal Kumar Pokharel and Sagar Paudel. However, the court acquitted Lilakumari Moktan, Bishwaraj Pokharel, and Methur Chaudhary.
The court also found Thapa guilty in a separate case involving the accumulation of illegal property.
