The Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, is facing a Supreme Court hearing today (Monday) regarding a writ petition challenging the indictment filed against him in a cooperative fraud case, along with organized crime and money laundering charges.
Earlier, a bench of Justices Saranga Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel had directed that the case files, including amendments involving Lamichhane, be retrieved and corrected.
On Sunday, the Office of the Attorney General submitted the revised case files to the Supreme Court as per its request, paving the way for today’s renewed hearing.
Attorney General Savita Bhandari had instructed the District Government Attorney’s Office to amend Lamichhane’s ongoing cases in various districts involving cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.
Following this, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, along with law students Ayush Badal and Yubaraj Paudel, filed a writ petition against the amendment decision.
