The Supreme Court, in a joint bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel, dismissed the writ petition filed by Dr. Mukul Dhakal on Tuesday and issued a directive order.
Dr. Dhakal had filed the petition claiming to be the General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and sought permission to function in that capacity. His petition demanded a permanent order and injunction.
In the writ, he named the RSP central office, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, spokesperson Manish Jha, RSP Chairperson Ravi Lamichhane, and others as respondents.
Although the party took disciplinary action against Dr. Dhakal, the Election Commission has not yet updated the party’s working committee accordingly.
