The Supreme Court of Nepal is set to partially resume its services from today, which had been suspended since Bhadra 24 following the Gen-Z movement protests involving arson, vandalism, and looting.
Since the suspension, the court had only been registering and hearing habeas corpus petitions and urgent applications.
Starting today, the Supreme Court will also begin to register and hear writ petitions, as well as cases under Section 157 of the Civil Procedure Code, 2074, and Sections 73, 137, and 155 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 2074, according to an official notice.
However, all other services will remain suspended until further notice, court spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala stated.
