Deputy Speaker of the Madhes Provincial Assembly, Babita Raut, has confirmed that the Supreme Court’s mandamus order related to the chief ministerial appointment dispute reached the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Monday night.
She stated that the Supreme Court’s directive — requiring the Chief Minister to seek a vote of confidence within 24 hours — arrived at the Secretariat at 8:30 PM on Monday.
Deputy Speaker Raut said, “The Supreme Court’s letter has already arrived at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat. We are now waiting for the letter from the Chief Minister’s Office.”
She further added that once the letter is received from the Chief Minister’s Office, the Provincial Assembly is ready to call a meeting as per the directive.
