Vote counting for the House of Representatives election in Tanahun Constituency-1 shows that Swarnim Wagle, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has maintained a significant lead.
According to the latest update from the Chief Election Officer’s Office, Wagle has secured 10,765 votes after the counting of 20,170 ballots.
His closest rival, Govinda Bhattarai of the Nepali Congress, is in second place with 3,982 votes. Meanwhile, Bhagwati Neupane, the candidate of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), has received 2,018 votes.
With the current count, the vote difference between Wagle and Bhattarai has reached 6,783 votes.
According to Bikash Lamsal, chief of the District Election Office Tanahun, the voter turnout in the district was 51.74 percent.
A total of 126,882 voters were registered in Tanahun-1, including 61,778 men and 65,104 women.
