A teenage girl died after a tree fell on her house during a storm in Jhapa District.
According to police, 17-year-old Aarti Rajbanshi, daughter of Premlal Rajbanshi from Haldibari Rural Municipality-2, Parakhopi, died when a fallen tree crushed the house where she was sleeping.
The incident occurred around 9 PM last night when a strong windstorm accompanied by rain uprooted a nearby mango tree, which then collapsed onto the house.
Police said the teenager was sleeping inside her home at the time, and the fallen tree struck the structure, causing fatal injuries. Authorities are further looking into the incident.
