A scooter rider died after being hit by a tipper truck on Wednesday morning, leading to a tense situation in the area.
According to police, a tipper truck (Bagmati Province-01-004 K 3423) struck a scooter at Banepa Telecom Chowk, killing an approximately 30-year-old man on the spot. The victim’s identity has not yet been established.
The body has been kept at Shree Memorial Hospital.
Following the incident, angry locals set the tipper on fire and pelted stones at police. To bring the situation under control, police fired several rounds of tear gas.
