
Pokhara police have arrested three individuals for selling water in place of cooking oil. The incident took place at Himshree Foods Pvt. Ltd. in Industrial Area-10, Pokhara Metropolitan City, where the suspects diverted palm oil (used in food production) and sold water instead.
The arrested include 35-year-old Kaviraj Gautam, 49-year-old Chhavinath “Shambhu” Gautam, and 37-year-old Buddhibahadur Lama from Simra Sub-Metropolitan City-22, Amlekhganj, Bara. Instead of delivering oil purchased from CG Oil & Derivatives Pvt. Ltd., they replaced it with water.
The truck (NA 5 Kha 7708) used for transportation was found with water stored in jerricans to match the weight of the stolen oil. The District Police Office, Kaski, stated that the suspects have been booked under theft-related charges, and the investigation period has been extended by 10 days.
