
In Ratnanagar Municipality-12, Shantikunj, Chitwan, the wall of a grain factory collapsed, killing three people and injuring two others.
The incident occurred this morning when the wall of the factory gave way. The three workers died while receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
The deceased have been identified as 45-year-old Sukram Darai from Khairahani Municipality-2, Chitwan; 54-year-old Resham Darai, originally from Gorkha, residing in Ratnanagar-12; and 45-year-old Kamal Gurung from Ratnanagar-12.
Two others, 39-year-old Jitendra Mahato and 40-year-old Ankaj Prasad Tharu, both residents of Ratnanagar-12 and originally from Parsa district, were injured in the collapse and are currently undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
DSP Subash Bhatt of Ratnanagar Police stated that the 10-inch thick partition wall inside the grain factory suddenly collapsed. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
