
Three newly appointed ministers in the interim government will be sworn in on Monday. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expanded her cabinet by inducting three members.
Former Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, has been assigned the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation. Advocate Om Prakash Aryal will take charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs along with the Ministry of Law, while former Finance Secretary Rameshore Khanal has been given the Ministry of Finance.
According to the Office of the President, the swearing-in ceremony will take place at 11:30 AM on Monday at the President’s Office.
Earlier last week, Gen-Z demonstrations had spread across the Kathmandu Valley and other parts of the country. The protests turned violent, leading CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli to resign from the post of Prime Minister.
Following his resignation, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as the Prime Minister of the interim government last Friday.
