According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds and a low-pressure area near the eastern region of the country.
At present, skies are generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province as well as in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, while other provinces are experiencing partly cloudy conditions in their hilly and mountainous regions. Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently occurring in some hilly areas of Gandaki Province and at a few places in the Terai region of Bagmati Province.
During the day, skies will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province and Sudurpashchim Province, as well as in the hilly and mountainous areas of other provinces, while the remaining areas will experience partly cloudy weather.
There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning, along with light snowfall in higher elevations, at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Province provinces. Similar conditions are also likely at a few locations in the Himalayan regions of other provinces and at isolated places in the Terai of Koshi Province, as well as in the hilly regions of Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province.
Tonight, skies are expected to remain generally cloudy in the Himalayan region, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy conditions. A few places in the Himalayan region and isolated areas of the hilly region may experience moderate rain with thunder and lightning, along with snowfall in higher elevations.
